axle identification
Can anyone help me decode my axle tags and what kind of axles i have. I couldnt find anything that would help me on the net.
Here are the numbers as they appear on the tags
I didnt see anything stamped into the axle tubes either
Front Axle
ED2 D6TA AA
610005 1R 4.09
Rear Axle
4.10 D6TA CF
6037_7 12L 8
I cant read the number in the 6037_7 part
I found 60HD cast into the carrier.
The trucks vin number is F26HNY05099
The axle code is B4J
The transmission code is A
7500 LB. GVW.

They are both 76 Truck D6TA
The front one has a 4.09 gear and the rear has 4.10. Both appear to be open differentials since there is no L after the 4 (4L10 is limited slip)
The axle code is B4, which would indicate LS in the rear.
The rear is a Dana 60, the front is probably a Dana 44
the J is for power steering.
