hood wont close

the cable was just adjusted about 2 months ago is adjusting the cable hard to do?

You sure it's not just the lock mechanism stuck? A couple spritz's of wd40?

Try pulling the release to make sure the latch didn't lock. Oil up the latch. Make sure the latch hasn't been bent in. It's easy to do when you're leaning over the engine.

There's a return spring in the back of the latch that keeps the latch hook open. If it breaks, the hood will not close. The stealership would not sell me the spring - only an entirely new latch mechanism for ~$35. Took the offending spring to the local hardware store, matched it fairly well, and I'm back in business. Looking from above, see if there is a small spring hanging in the back of the unit where it mounts to the cross member.

When ever that used to happen to me I would just have someone pull it a bunch of times then i would spray it with ALOT of PB Blaster. Worked most of the time.....
