As far as I know. . . its not cutting back on fuel. Its retarding the timing significantly to reduce cylinder pressures and thats what reduces the engine knock. Thats why it won't run when its cold. . . not enough heat to cause combustion. . . and thats why it smokes so much. I hate to break it to anyone. . . but this is definitely not a solution to fuel consumption at idle. Just don't sit around idling a lot. Besides. . . if its running it should be RUNNING!. . . and running hard

I was dicking around in the parking lot waiting for some people with my AE, normaly ICP in a tune is 650 at idle, i switched to the drive-thru tune and the ICP went to 855ish. Makes me think that it raises ICP but retards the timing (less than the 13* smoke lope!) but it does emit a slight blue haze. Also, don't shut down on this tune it doesnt sound good!

IIRC, I've read on more then one occasion that our trucks burn 1/3 gal/hr at idle and 2/3 gal/hr at 1200 rpm's (no load). I've left it idle for about 45 minutes with no effect on my mileage.

I'm sorry, but it's late at night and nearly my bedtime but I could not resist this one. I have learned that I USE NO GAS AT IDLE.

ICP, is Injector Control Pressure. It's the term deemed for the high pressure circuit oil pressure that fires the injectors.

Kris, I know you gotta AE to read your trucks info, so it's in easy to read verbage. I'd like to read my ICP, but on my Predator it lists it in some weird measurement that I don't understand, can't remember what it is.... Is there a way to convert my reading to common "english" measurement?

Ok boys....

We had a chance this weekend while away at a friends wedding to test this out for those who are wanting to drive with the drive-thru tune. This is what we have come up with so far.

Starting up my truck it died everytime.(ICP too low to get it going)
At a creep(under 10 mph) it was smooth as silk and very quite.

This was done with the emulator so Jody could do on the fly changes. We need to put the tune on my chip and see how it does switching between programs.

We have BB touney's this week. Hopefully this weekend we can get this done.
