Question How did i go wrong?

Did koolaid mod today. There are so many threads and opinions on how to do the flush its beyond me how i went wrong. Flushed twice with tap water, twice with distilled water and the last flush let drain for an hour. Pulled the plugs both times with distilled. Truck was on flat ground. Put in the 203 thermostat, new neck. No leaks let truck idle for probably 20mins after putting in koolaid hoping the level would drop but it didnt.

Problem truck only took back a little over 6 gallons of coolant, seems im about a gallon short?

Air? Water? Drive it for a few days and it will go down?

Any thoughts or exp? thx Ben

When i did that on my truck, (flush with water, run it, then change water pump, stat, etc) I could only get just over 6 gallons in mine aswell. I even used compressed air to flush out most the heater coil. It was in the shop, so on level ground aswell, and well, the water pump was off lol. But thats all my truck took aswell. Its also an 02, if it makes any difference with these trucks.

I would, I just look at the resovoir when I do my underhood inspection to check the oil etc. But if youve already had it up to temp, a time or two, and added as needed, it probably wont drop anymore.

What ron said, did you run the heater?

Mine will only hold a little under 7 gallons.
