I know the part # for the ford fliter is f t 145. What other filter will work .

I have no idea if the aftermarket filters are of acceptable quality. It sure seems that they are very simple (just a roll of paper), but there are a few things that need to be done right:
- core tube needs to be strong and not soften with heat exposure
- the filter media needs to be wound pretty tightly.

If you use any of these others, give us a report. I don't recall anyone posting on this before.

Seriously - thanks for the post. It is good info to have. We shouldn't have to pay $18 for these.

 

I just bought two of the cheaper filters from diesel filters online, they look to be exactly the same as the ford ones!!
