And I'm sure the government requiring something is a good reason to get rid of it. Breaking federal laws is fun, huh?
Go ahead and be a sheeple and do everything the government tells you to. I'm sur that have your best interests at heart and would never screw you in the name of having power over you. Government is never corrupt. BTW WHAT THE HELL PLANET HAVE YOU BEEN LIVING ON?
Don't know how this turned into a political thing, all I wanted to know is if my truck would run without EGR.
I don't give a potters **** about what the government says about my truck. I can assure you that Hillary emits more gas and hot air flying from here to there than my truck would in two lifetimes!
I'm sure the government can control you through your EGR system-
I can assure you I'm not a sheeple. I have removed emissions equipment. Take a look at the 84 F250 in my gallery- that truck started out with an electronic carb and computer controlled timing on a 351w with a cat. The only piece of emissions equipment on the 300-6 in the truck was the PCV valve-
BTW, do you remove the government mandated PCV valve as well? I mean, all it does is keeps oil from dumping out on the road-

Your truck will run without an EGR. It's won't run properly unless you make other modifications, and it would be a good idea to just fix the system so it works right.

You are a full of crap! What the hell else do you have to do other the block the EGR or remove it? Nothing that's what. Quit with the BS information.
O.K fellas I need advice on swapping out my 2bbl for a new intake and 4bbl. What is a good combo to go with and really don't want to break the bank. I'm currently taking the engine apart to clean and just decided to scrap the old intake and carb. Thanks
EGR, etc, - - That's part of the reason I bought the old '75 F-250 SC in the 1st place. NO emissions stuff. At the time 3/4 T trucks were "trucks". The only vacuum lines on it go to the brake booster, dizzy, and the gauge on the dash. One of the few 360's to come from the factory w/ a 4 bbl (600) carb. That (and a few other things) will change when I rebuild the engine.

Ford never produced a 360 with a 4 barrel. Maybe the dealer installed it, but Ford sure didn't.

Your 360 has not so much trouble with the intake as the outflow. The manifolds are terrible. Consider some headers & dual exhaust with a crossover. 600 cfm is plenty as this motor isn't going to see high rpm.
Other 360 advise: If you take it apart, make it a 390 and put some compression and a cam in it. More power, same amount of gas. Lots of posts here on the how-to.
Nicely put > turn a 360 into a 390, change the rotating assembly. If you stay with 360 pistons you get a higher compression 390 (taller pistons). I've got Flowmaster long-tube headers for the rebuild of my 360. >said to increase the HP by 10-15. I'd like to have the engine dyno'd to about the same HP as inches when it's done. Such are the dreams of an old man. [ my grandaughters need a truck that will take them camping quick ]
