well, i put the original one back in it and got it running good enought for me to get rid of it tomorrow. I did test the dist in my friends 76 with a straight 6 and it works... I tested everything in his and it works there and he looked at my wiring and said it shoudl work but he is also stumped... I'm goina scrap this ford and use the money to buy a new clutch for my 76 dodge 3/4 ton.

Then it sounds like a wiring issue, if everything worked in your friends truck.
Funny it ran with the old system put back though.
