460 Distributor ??

Got a 460 Distributor ??......Wiring up my 55 Ford Truck and I got a new Dist from Autozone.......Can anybody tell me how to wire it up.....I have: Red/Black wire, Black Wire, Purple/Black wire.....On my wiring Diagram from EZ Wiring it has 3 wires from Dist going to Orange, Purple and Black on Electronic Ignition Mod.....Thanks for the help

Think of the red wire as your Orange wire. Or you can give us the part number of the distributor and magnetic triger so we have an idea of what year distributor they gave you.

Sorry Air...Wasnt even thinking........I believe the engine is out of a 71 Lincoln....On side of Dist is a 12127 Motorcraft.....No sure on what a Magnetic trigger is...Sorry....

EZ wiring schematic shows 3 wires going from Dist to Elec Ign Mod...Wires on the Ignition Mod are: Orange, Purple and Black.....Wires from Dist are not marked....Called EZ Wiring today and they werent sure either on the Distributor...
