Anybody know what a fair price for a '69 351W 2V would be? It's in running condition, approx. 80,000miles, has been setting a couple years. I have found one I want to buy and don't know what to offer. I believe the 69-70 windsors are getting hard to find.
You're right about the fact that the '69-'70 351 Windsors getting hard to find!!! If the one you've found is good enough to use as is or a good re-builder, I'd pay around $500.00 for one complete, 2v, or 4v!!! mind you the 2Vs and 4Vs, run the same compression ratio, so you can swap to a stock 4v, or an aftermarket type when you want.if you find anouther one let me know!!!
Good Luck!!! -Supercab
Local junk yards around here (NC) get $250 for complete non-running rebuildable windsors and $375 to $450 for complete running engines. $500 is a little high but I would want to hear it run to see if it smokes or knocks before shelling out more than $450. Offer them $400 and go from there.
Sorry guys, not ready to part with it yet, though the price of shipping across country surely can't be worth while. Unless you're doing a restoration and need the numbers to match, any 351 block, with Edlebrock heads, manifold and cam will do everything the '69 would do. Just to do the heads right, cleaning, maging, hard seats, new guides, new springs, collars and keepers, new oversize intake and exhaust (1.9/1.6) valves, pushrod guide plates, would cost as much as some of the heads listed in Summit's catalog.
