Downshift linkage

I have a 1978 F150 that the previous owner had changed the carb and intake. The 351M came with a 2 barrel, and he put an Edelbrock manifold with a Holley 4 barrel carb on it. I was looking the other day, and noticed a linkage that was not connected to the carb, but was dangling there in plain sight. After further review, realized it was the downshift linkage. How does it connect? There is no mechanism on the carb for it to attach to. I looked at my brothers truck, same motor but with the factory setup 2 barrel. It has a separate mechanism which sits behind the throttle on the carb, and when you gun it it pushes the downshift linkage down, and, well, you know the rest. Where can I find what I need for this non-stock carb?

There are a handful of kits that will adapt. A Holley should have the mechanism needed. If all else fails you can get a kit from Lokar to hook it up. Look around Summit's website; they will have what you need.
