Maybe I'll put the belts on hold for now. I'll check at the wreckers and see what there is that may have an integrated 3 point seat belt in a leather power seat. I'm sure that there are tons of wrecked sports cars or mid size vehicles that may just fit the bill.
The truck came with a set of carrera seats but they were missing a lot of the trim pieces and looked too incomplete, so I gave them back to the PO. If someone has any Ideas of a set that will fill the bill please let me know.
Kusto, I formed the plate in the vice gradually working the curve. I thought at first about trying to do it hot but did it cold. I made a couple of wood blocks to the correct shape Top and bottom so that I was able to check the shape of the metal while still in the vice. The real key to me was to make sure that the leading edge of the formed plate butted firmly into the rear door post since that would be where the load would be transfered if a serious accident ever occured.
Another method would require a brake capable of bending 1/8 plate, make a template out of cardboard ( manila folder) form a triangle with the bottom being wider at the position desired..fit it into the corner, then add the back ( fitting from window to triangle) and the side (fitting from triangle to door post)...tape the three pieces together, there's your pattern to bend to. I guess you really should have the seats youwant installed..1st , so you get the belts in the right position and know where your anchor would be.
So many options to decide on. I think first I'll see if I can find a set of seats with built in belts and then just have to re-enforce the floor mounts in the cab floor.
