i saw this truck for sale BuySell Classifieds : British Columbia : 1997 FORD F-350 SUPER DUTY 1 TON DIESEL, 196000kms, 3dr, Manual, 4x4, 7.3L Powerstroke, Cylinders 8, Diesel, AM/FM Stereo, Air Conditioning, Anti-Lock Brakes, Bench Seat, Intermittent Wipers, Power Brakes, Pow , i was just wondering what kind of transmission it has in it? it has a manual with a 7.3L turbo diesel. Man they sure don't make tough trucks like these anymore, sure they were butt ugly but man they were tough! this truck would be great for industrial use like using it transport crews on a construction or logging site.For the average person it would empty his bank account to pay for the fuel costs! this truck would be a great platform to do a cummins conversion drop in a nice used 12 valve cummins turbo diesel and you got yourself one hell of a truck! ill keep my stroker. On a side note, my buddy bent his frame towing with his dodge hooked to one of my trailers that I pull with the same load three to four times a week. I cant stop laughing. His 35k dollar truck is a 03, and mine is a 95. Have a mentioned that I cant stop laughing!?!?!?!?!

thanks for the replies fellas i posted this thread over in the General Diesel Discussion only got one response. I really like this era body style too it just looks tough, the reason i said it was butt ugly cause i heard other people say that but hey what do they know right lol! Anyways thanks again fellas !

I agree. I love the look of these trucks. Test drove a 2008 F-250, but if felt like I was in my grandma's cadillac. It was love at 1st sight when I saw my 97 F-250. And, the $800 a month that would have been going to a truck payment helps ease my pain a bit when I fill it up ($4.69/gal last night - ouch!).
