So here's the whole story! Truck has 100k on it (about 55000 miles) I'm from canada eh!
So buddies and I are headdin out to the mountains to do some sleddin for a couple of days, so I thought I would be pro active and get the tranny fluid flushed! Wow was that a mistake! Made it about 50 miles down the highway, and I lost all power! Reves were up at the 3500rpm mark and I couldnt pick up any speed at all, in fact I was loosing speed. Truck seemed to not want to up shift. took the truck back to the ford dealership, raised some hell, and of course they found nothing wrong with the truck when there was no load behind it.
Took the truck out last weekend to pick up a boat, a good 1000k trip. Going down the truck ran good, but my milage went all to hell since I had it at the dealership. Commin back pullin the boat (only weighs about 3000lbs) the truck would not up shift into overdrive at all. RPM's would stay at the 3000mark, needless to say my milage went down to 8mpg!!! The only way I could get the tranny to upshift was to get up to speed, and then let off the throttle, and let the RPM's drop. Then if I stepped on the gas again lightly, it would stay at the 1950rpm mark.
So came home dropped off the boat took the truck back to the dealership, and of course if no codes come up, so according to FORD, there's nothing wrong!
One other thing is that if I put the truck into 3rd and start off, it seems as thought the truck stays in 1st, it rev's relaly high and wont shift at all, this is going really slow. Told the dealership about this and once again, no codes came up, so nothing is wrong.
I dont know, but this is my first Ford, and so far not happy at all with the way things are going already.
Oh I should mention, that before I took the truck to Ford, I would get 25mpg average empty! Now Im getting 11mpg empty. And of course they wont admit to changing anythig or doing any new downloads.
The truck is stock!
Sorry for the long winded post
This is correct. If they did not use the correct oil you will toast that tranny. That would be the first thing I would ask the dealer ship that flushed it for you.
