Is there any reason to haul the truck in for this recall if i dont have any current issues? Im on the fence about it. Im almost out of warranty, 3,000 miles left. On one hand, i hate to have it done for no reason and cause other issues, but then again, i hate to skip it and cause other issues. When its cold outside, sometimes the idle is a little whacky, but it goes away shortly.
It is really up to you and your warranty has no affect being what you are asking about is a "recall". You could take it in now or take it in after the warranty expires and it is still covered by Ford...
You would hate for a wacky cold idle to wreck an otherwise good set of injectors. That's how I would view it. I had no idea my injectors were bad, until I took it in last week mainly to get a flash update. I think get it done, in the event the new calibration is that much better and/or the old calibration was that poor... Best of luck!
I have seen very few complaints about the newest calibration. Most comments are positive. I had mine done quite a while ago now and have absolutely no complaints. My truck ran great before the flash and even better after. I had some minor idle issues when it was cold, all are gone now and I gained about 1 mpg...
The flash didn't reveal the bad injectors, but before they went to upgrade the flash the tech immediately knew the truck wasn't running like it should. Lo and behold... bad injectors
