2004 wheels will be the same fit, But double check on the year of those 17" wheels because Ford started using the 17" wheels in 2005 and the 2005-2008 have a different offset that won't work unless you add wheel spacers!!!

2004 wheels

Well I ended up getting the 2004 wheels for my 2001 sd. Although I don't think they are going to fit with out wheel spacers. So what kid of spacers do I need to get?
Any help would be great.

Your backspacing is 4.5" and the '05 and later was around 5.75", so you'll need about a 1.25" spacer. More or less depending on how much you want the tire to stick out. I'd bolt them on and see how much you need to clear the leaf springs.

Many people who run wheel spacers get them from http://wheeladapter.com

From what I have heard Fred Goeske makes some high quality spacers. They run about $600 a set.

What ever spacers you choose, just make sure they are hub centric to hub centric...

I personally wouldn't run spacers.

Power stokehd, I see you have a 2004, these wheels came off a 2004 they are the polished 5 spoke. What kind did yours come with and what was the size. Another guy said that Ford didn't start using 17" untill 2005 and these were the stock wheels on a 2004.

I have a Harley so my truck came with 18" H-D wheels from the factory. The only factory wheel sizes offered in '04 were 16" and 18". The 18's were optional on Lariat's and KR's, standard on Harley. GregsSD is 100% correct, '05 was the first year for 17" wheels on a SD. It was the replacement for the 16" wheel due to the larger brake calipers on the '05-up SD's. So your 17" factory wheels are '05 or newer...

I also have to agree with cartmanea about not using wheel spacers, but if you "must" Goeske is supposed to be the way to go.

Hub centric means the wheel is centered and supported by the hub of the vehicle vs. being "lug centric" where the wheel is centered and supported by the wheel studs...

Not sure what you are looking for in the way of wheels, but Tire Rack has a closeout deal on 18" Ford SVT wheels that would fit your truck perfectly at $149 ea. Ford's list price is over $400 ea. The basic wheel design (5-spoke) is the same as the OEM '04 18" wheels. FTE member "boxcar1974" has a set on his '03. Pictures are in his gallery (weblink below)

I ran into this same problem looking for some oem 17s for my 1999 SD. There basically are none I could find that would bolt-on.

I ended up swapping on a newer set of the 16s with the 5 hole pattern.

Good info here for you emtiv.

I really appreaciate all of the comments and advice. I picked up the wheels this morning and OFCOURSE they do not fit. If any one is close to the Nashville Tn area and are looking for a set of 2005 17" polished stock wheels and tires 315/70/17 (tires are not new)I have a set for sale now.

Hey, PowerStoke. I looked at the Tire Rack ad and it says 4 x2 truck. Except for the closed center cap is there any reason these wheels won't fit a 4 x 4? I didn't think there was any diffence between 2 and 4 wheel rims.

I dont mean to answer for him but to answer your question:

No, except for the closed front center caps these should fit fine on any 99-04 250/350 SD.

Nope, no difference. The wheels will work on either 4X2 or 4X4 trucks. The center caps may or may not work on a 4X4, but that is a minor issue with the price of the wheels.
