Question 5.4, no load, running issues

I have a 97 F250, Light Duty, with a 5.4, auto, recently while driving it, no load, such as trying to run 30 mph through town, or just cruising along at 55 mph, it has a miss fire, surge, chug, or bucking, but under no load sitiuations only, runs fine under a load, or at idle, or coasting. Getting 16 mpg, you can let off of the throttle, or push the throttle down a little and make the truck work, and the above symptoms are gone. Truck has 110k, unknown on scheduled maint., since I just purchased it 6 weeks ago. No check engine light. Help Please!

One bad coil will do that. Your discribing a light load condition.
Have a dealer stress test them all and replace the one that fails. It won't cause a code, so you don't know what cylinder it is without the testing
There is an explanation for it if you need to know..
