i was at a truck tire store that sells big rig tires and in the back they recap tires and stuff. well, they also paint rims for the big fleet companies. they sand blast the steel wheels and then they powder coat the wheel and bake the powder onto the rim. the wheels come out looking brand new. i had them do my john deere model 40 rims for something like 16 bucks a wheel. they didnt have yellow powder though, they had white, gray and orange, but the wheels looked great. thats what i am going to do for my 82 f150rallies

Well, I finally got two of my new tires mounted and balanced today on my freshly painted rims. They didn't chip up the new paint too bad.
I was debating on putting the white letters out, and I think I made a good choice. I'm not going to put the dog dish centers or beauty rings back on the new wheels. I'm going to see if a pair of aftermarket open center caps will fit the stock 5" hole and then add some chrome lug nuts.
I found 4 Sport King AT - 285/70 R16's in the junk yard for $11.00 each and they were like brand new.
Now, I just have to get off my a$$ and finish painting two more 16 X 7 steelies so I can get the rear wheels and tires to match.
Good enough for now until I swap out the D60 and Sterling axles and put the 38's on.......
That's a clean, nice lookin' truck you've got there. I've been wanting to paint my rims white too and your pics just sealed the deal for me. I think though, instead of bright white I'm going to go with an off-white like the body color is.
The best part about it is that my friend is the painter at the local Maaco so he can paint all four rims for $25.
That looks great, makes me want to ditch my 17's and go back to steelies. The white and the chrome is looking really good together. If you cant find center caps, have you thought about painting the hubs the same color as the wheels? I know it came seem a little off, but I hate to see a rusty colored hub sticking out of a freshly painted wheel.

Those rusty hubs aren't going to be in there too much longer.
I'm putting a D60 and Sterling 10.25 FF in there real soon. They will be painted black, and I'm going to see if I can get some stainless steel open center caps front and rear to fit the factory 5" holes and some stainless lug nuts.
That paint is actually more of a creme color and it is an original Ford color that matches the body.
The pics make it look much whiter than it actually is.
If I were you, I would sand blast them first. I sanded mine by hand, and it was a PITA.
Here is a thumbnail to a close up that shows the color better. Click the thumb, and then the picture for a full size photo:
I'm pretty sure they call that off-white "Wimbeldon White". I worked in an automotive paint store and looked it up. You'd be amazed at just how many shades of whites there are!
I have a connection at a local paint shop, (not the Maaco connection), where I can use their sandblaster for the price of a 12 pack of cold beverage. I used them to sandblast a "Ranch-Hand" grill guard I got at the local bone yard. I'm going to get tires for Hoss next month and me-thinks I'll go with the white lettering out like yours.
