Hey Bill,
Can you identify these two numbers please?
D1TZ-18805-AA and D2TZ-18805-AA
Thanks.
Dealer installed radio kits.
1968/72: Two kits were offered: D2TZ-AA = AM with pushbuttons (the radio chassis [only] was D2TZ-18806-A) / D2TZ-BA = AM MANUAL (no pushbuttons) / D2 = Updated part numbers

1968/72: Ford also offered a "Hang On" tape player w/stereo.
I can't find the tape player part number, but the speaker kit came separate, found those #'s.
D1TZ-18808-A Speaker Kit-use with stereo tape player-door mounted / D1TZ-18808-A replaced by D2TZ-18808-A.
The speakers and speaker grilles were the same as used on 1969/70 Mustangs.

C8AZ-19A035-A .. STEREO TAPE PLAYER KIT-Underdash Mounted.
Well, if we're trying for a 'stump Numberdummy' thread....
Almost 20 years later I've still got two Ford part numbers etched on my brain from a hellhole I once worked at, D6TB-14461-AB which was later replaced by E7EB-14461-HB even though it was *wrong* for the application and looked like *crap* it passed our minimal QC so purchasing looked good

There was a stump numberdummy thread yesterday, and (naturally) no one could...even tho cry...er...monsterbaby tried.
btw: those are engineering numbers, not part numbers, for terminals with or without wires.
Are you sure that the AM/Fm Stereo was 1973 up Numberdummy? I thought they were avaliable in 1971. My 1972 had one. And it is mentioned in the brochure I have. https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...100259&width=0

There's no part number for an AM/FM radio listed in the 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog which was printed in 1975. That's all I can go by.
The only speakers listed besides the AM type are for the hang on 8 track stereo tape player.
I just scrolled thru the 18800-19000 (radio) section of the catalog, there nothing specific to an AM/FM radio listed.
Did Ford offer an AM/FM radio for the F Series prior to 1973?
I have no refs for it.
Look on the side or the back of the radio chassis for a Ford ID number.
The door speaker grilles pictured in your reference are the same as 1969/70 Mustang (C9ZZ-18978-A), and are listed for the "hang-on" 8 track stereo tape player.

On my 1972 F100 AM/FM Bendix radio there is only an engineering number on the chassis.
It reads: D1TA-19A241 125
2FBTP-C
Here is my 71-72 Ford F-series Bendix radio. Note the lack of balance slide bar...

Resurrecting an old thread..
A few days ago, I came across a push button am radio with an engineering number D2TA-18806 from a 72 Ford Truck. I was not sure what to make of it when someone on Ebay in PA listed it as a Mustang radio. Was this radio used on 72 Mustangs and Ford trucks?

In my Ford micro fische slides Mustang radios had mustang part numbers and Bump radios had truck part numbers. But I think the seller may not be trying to be dishonest. A few years ago when I was looking for a radio for my Bump I found out the hard way it has to be a real short chassis to fit in the dash. Going back in to find a short chassis radio I read somewhere that the early Mustangs also required a short chassis radio. So your seller might just be mentioning what it fits. Not necessarily that it's a "Mustang" radio.
Had to resurrect this old thread to talk about speaker options specifically for this model of radio. For anyone with this D1TA 19A241 125 Bendix 2FBTP AM/FM radio with stereo speakers, does this pair with dual 8 ohm speakers or dual 4 ohm? I managed to find the PO of my 69 put this in but it was non-functional. I don't want to blow out the radio and the options of getting stereo (dual voice) speakers in the dash sounds good but most of them use 4 Ohm pairs from what I can tell. If this radio expects 8 Ohm pairs it'll fry (at least that what it sounds like if you look at Classic Car Speakers)
Either way it sounds like the stock speaker bracket isn't going to work. So if the radio is expecting 2 x 8 Ohm speakers I can source a dual-voice stereo pair that will fit into the dash (with supposed bracket modification since I can't find a dual voice that slots into the original speaker bracket) OR I could put 2 x 4 Ohm in the dash and a 4 Ohm in each door (which I have a good source for door panels with cuts already in them) for a per-channel-sum of 8 Ohms.
