can a 302 from a mustang fit in a 84 pickup also with a 302? i need a new engine and im a little short on cash.are wrecking yard engines any good?what type of engines will bolt right up to my truck?
A 302 is a 302. There is no difference in the block between the 302's in cars and trucks. To make life easier when changing oil you may want to put a rear sump oil pan on, but if you don't mind a little oil on your cross member then the double sump type will be fine.
a 302 is a 302, but it may be balanced differently, depending on the year. make sure to get flywheel or flexplate from year of engine to assure proper balance.
Check out the dipstick location. Some blocks mount the dipstick in the rear/side of the block, some don't. There will be a combo of block-oilpan-dipstick location that will work with any block, but certain parts may hard to find.
