ChaseTruck754, it seems to me that the conversion would be a great enhancement to the hauling of toys. I have done the Brake upgrade to my F150 supercab, so the next thing would be axles. YOu say you have pics etc...?
Also - you can upgrade axles without doing a floater. Are you just looking to take some of the load off the axle bearings by going floater or what? What benefit do you see by doing this?
Agreed - he might as well keep the 9" if a 5 lug floater is what he is after. I was just making the point that it can be done the other way around.
Just to play devil's advocate on this - It might be cheaper in the long run to get a rear d60 or 70 and swap out the hubs, then to build an entire 9" floater that is beefy...
well whats the big deal with staying with 5 lugs? You can get 8 lug rims from any junkyard for cheap i'm sure. You could run 8s in the rear and 5s up front...or you could upgrade to a d60 up front.
I just dont think keeping an 5 lug would be worth all the trouble it would take to make a full floater out of a 9 inch.
