Ok, I am in the process of installing my Z2 with xm, BT, Camera, Ipod and need some wiring info. I have an 05 superduty and am tring to install the PAC-swips also.
1) Where does the jack on that thing plug into? it looks just like a head phone jack and the only spot on my Z2 that it fits says digital or something like that.
2) Where do I hook the dimmer and illumination wires?
Thanks but that just isn't true with the fords. Yes, I am using the Metra factory adapter but It does not have either. The z2 has a orange/white positive dimmer and a an orange ILL. I just don't want to fry anything.

Reason: spelling
That's why I quit using Metra adapters, they seem to have quit including wiring for a lot of stuff. The Scosche FD23 has a lot more wires coming out of it, some of which I never did figure out what they were for.
As far as your problem, I can't remember which wire the illumination wire was, cause it was labeled on my Scosche adapter. I know that there is one, because I have it working in my truck. My Kenwood unit has an auto setting that allows you to have two different video settings for when the headlights are on or off. I have the brightness set all the way up without the headlights, and all the way down if they are on. That way the screen isn't too bright at night.
I've never had an aftermarket radio that would actually dim proportionally to the dimmer switch like the factory radio does, so if that is what you are trying to do don't expect it to work. (Someone with the Z2 would have to verify this but I am pretty sure it is true). The most you can probably hope for is something like I have.
Sorry I couldn't be more help. I plan on working on my stereo in a few weeks, if you haven't figured this out by then I might be able to help.
