Havent I mentioned here before that I the HATE Detroit engines on my rig.
Yesterday I had an engine shut down and kill my second engine in the process. After a couple of hours of working on it we find the problem. The fuel pump locked up. So I am now waiting on parts.
Robert, I hear what you are saying about Detroit engines, but in the long haul trucking , I found Detroit to be a better and more econimical engine, than either Cat, or Cummins, I have had a bunch of each kind, and Detroit, in the same kind of truck, would get about 20% better fuel mileage than either one of the others.
These are really merceadies engines with a detroit name. They were designed for standby operations for hospitals and such. They arn't designed to run 24/7 like we are running them.
