Turbo questions
I had a deal on a van turbo and ATS housing fall through a couple of weeks ago, so now I am back to the begining. I need to pull the turbo to fix the oil leak and change the up pipes and have couple of questions about some turbo mods while it is out. I do a fair amount of heavy towing and I was wondering if a wicked wheel and 1.0 exhaust housing would be of any benefit. I would like to do the ATS but funds are limited right now and was thinking I could put one on later without removing the turbo. Is this something that will work? Thanks.

In a word, yes. The WW by itself will take care of pretty much all your surge issues. The 1.0 exhaust housing will reduce back pressures and EGTs, but may cause it to be a bit slower to spool on stock sticks. Probably not that bad of a trade-off.

Thanks guys. When I haul hay I run about 20k gross weight and am concerned about the back pressure, especially running 15-20 psi for many miles at a time. Like I said earlier, I figure I can change to the ATS without removing the turbo but the 1.0 has to be installed while the turbo is out.
