AC Vent temps?

<table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="0" width="97%"><tbody><tr><td class="ftalternatingbaron" align="right" valign="top" width="99%"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td colspan="2" valign="top">My truck is a 2005 F-250, 33,000 miles. I have not put a set of gauges on my truck, but i am thinking its just not quite cold as it should be. I can get the vent temperature down to about 48-50 when driving....and thats on max ac, recirc after about 30 mins of driving. After 40 mins of driving it will creep down to about 44, and if i sit in the parking garage i can get it down to 42. This is with outside air of 70-74 degrees. Maybe its ok, but it sure seems to be warmer than most vehicles. I have nothing to go on except that my wife's truck, an f-150 with 110,000 miles readily gets to 38 degrees and stays at 40-42 while driving.

I would figure mine should do that well.

There have been numerous reports on this and other forums of '04 and '05 trucks that came from the factory slightly under-charged.

Whether that is the case with yours or not, it is something to be looked into.

Im considering taking it in. Im pretty sure they are going to slap a thermo on the vent and say "yep, its colder than outside, its ok". I dont know if thats their standard procedure. The service guy said they would evac it and recharge to factory spec, but i couldnt get him pinned to say they ALWAYS do that.

Well, i called my favorite service advisor and i told him that i thought the AC wasnt cooling well. He immediately said "are you getting temps in the mid 40's", which i am. He said for the Superduties that is as cold as they are going to get. He said they can check it anyway check the temps adn pressure, but they are what they are.
