LAST EDITED ON 09-Aug-01 AT 02:15 AM (EST)[p]When I'm driving my truck if I floor board it the speed at which it shifts changes. For example sometimes it will change into 2nd gear at 30, 35, and 40. And into 3rd at 55,60, and 65. I've checked my timing and it is set correctly, and I don't hear a spark knock, I have changed 02 Sensor, cleaned Throttle Body, new plugs and plug wires (and still the same). I pretty sure it's not a transmission slip though. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it.
If it doesn't feel like anythis wrong there probably isn't anything wrong. It might just be a difference in how hard you pressed the gas pedal, if you let up slightly, or maybe just the conditions you were in.
I understand what you are saying. My guess would be that when colder it shifts at higher speeds and when its hot it shifts sooner. This is normal to an extent. If the above is not the case I dunno. Your kickdown could be set just a frog hair too loose.
