Honestly.. I love my truck, maybe I'm being a bit obsessive but I see some people here that I know feel the same way.
What's the draw of an F100, F150, F350, whatever for everyone? What makes you like your particular truck more than any other truck you could buy?
You could drop $20grand into my hands right now for a truck purchase and I'd put every dime into my 78'.
I think you just answered your own question. We are obsessed and love our old trucks because there is nothing like them out there and we/I believe in them. They also have a tough, but vintage look to them that we still love. And their easier to work on than the new models...lol

the 70's fords are just cool.it's hard to explain.
I like these old trucks because they are just that, they are TRUCKS, they look like a truck, they drive like a truck and they function like a truck, they're from an era before trucks started to look, drive and feel like a car.
They are just awesome frickin trucks!! Tuff lookin, easy to work on, and make your own. What ever the P.O did to it. I've noticed getting alot of looks lately. And I've got a POS compared to alot of the ones I've seen on this site. Maybe its the truck or people cant believe its still on the road with the price of gas. I would not and will not own another truck.

Amen. My take is, if it has leather seats, traction control, and a DVD screen for the kiddies, it ain't a truck. Next thing the yuppies will want is an automatic a$$wipe...
I guess for me its just what I grew up with, dad had a 71 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 when I was little I literally had to climb in and that is what a tuck was these new things they make are just really big cars to me (he now drives an 08 superduty but likes my 79 F250). Later he bought our 89 F250 and I went all over the country in that thing up to montana down to florida and just about every where in between some of my best memories are from when it was my turn to ride in the front right behind that maroon dash that is a spot on match to the one in my bronco. Don't really know exactally why but I have like these trucks my whole life.

I like these things because of the looks, the looks you get, and the fact that they are just way too cool. They're relatively easy to work on, they're rugged, and even if it doesn't run good, it's still dependable. Those are but a few of the reasons, but, to be honest, I just don't know what it is. It's like a moth to a light, you just have to.
I think my fascination with them is a nostalgia thing. When I was a kid, and the 70s trucks were relatively new, I rode around a lot with my grandpa and uncles on the farm in their F150s. I think that is why I love them.
Nice looking trucks even with dents and rust, but the most important thing to me is the lovely color of the paid for paint. That is something most new trucks can't claim.
1. I simply like the look and stance of them.
2. They are reliable.
3. They are easy to work on.
4. Parts are easily available.
5. They are strong and powerful.
I too love these trucks. I have driven one daily for 16 years and before that they always just had the "look" that said real truck to me. I have tried new trucks over the years but I always prefer to drive my old truck. After a while it becomes part of the family.
