I'd stay the heck away from from Maaco. Get a reputable body shop do the body work...then get your own paint and paint it. I had Maaco do one of my vehicles and the paint lasted about 18 months before peeling...I put some time and effort into doing it myself with rattle cans and it's lasted 2 years. I put about 200 into all the paint. Check my gallery the black Bronco was the one I did.
yeah but what paint job did you get theres 4 of them.im guessing you got the cheap one.I looked at cars being painted in this maaco shop and they all look real good.they must of had 50 cars in there.the guy who owns this maaco even said alot of people dont wanna come to maaco cause of bad thing they hear but he said there all individually owned.just cause you got a bad paint job doesnt mean everyone will.sounds like you paid 400 bucks for there el cheapo paint job.I picked there top paint job and if it didnt come out good i wont pay them.sorry to hear that you had a bad paint job though if i werre you i would go back and show them what your paint has done.my paint job is that i picked has a 5 year warranty did yours?they told me it will take 2 weeks do get the job done that seems kinda long but my trucks got alot of rust and dents in the bed so i can see why and there really busy too.what paint job did you get from maaco anyway? MAACO Auto Paint & Auto Body Repair Service
Did I mention any thing about primer or filler before? No, just paint.

Next time you want to paint your Chevette out in the back yard stop by and see me

bought a gallon of PPG light medium blue metallic base, a gallon of clear, a quart of hardener and gallon of reducer for about $230
Again...I said quality ...PPG makes more than one line of paint...
regain some of the sleep you may have lost due to this thread and my previous post
You give yourself too much credit
To the original poster ...
If the Maaco repair is what is in your budget ...You have little choice,,,, Just from what you described in your post ,The repairs at my shop would be considerably more ..& come with a lifetime warrantee
STAY AWAY FROM MACCO!!!!!!!
I have redone a few Macco paint jobs and seen others first hand. Unless you plan on selling it right after painting it, take it to a good body shop. I swear Macco hires flunkies that cant cut it at real shops.
