Oxygen Sensor R/R update

Since I've changed all three O2 sensors (installed Bosch) on my X I've noticed at least a 1.5 to 2 mpg increase (combined city and highway using my ScanGaugeII). I also cleaned the MAF sensor.

The two sensors off each manifold were easy to "break"... the one after the CAT was a SOB .

What made you pick the Bosch O2 sensors vs. Motorcraft O2 sensors?

Do you think they perform the same? Oh yeah, what O2 sensor did you use as there seems to be 4 different types of sensors available from Bosch?

I read in either the V-10 or SD forum that Bosch manufactures Motorcraft O2 sensors... I think I read it there. .. Information overload... know how that is???

Anyhow, other posts I read during an extensive search prior to my purchase of Bosch, seem to be mostly positive about their product.

For the X only one type is offered... the thimble type.

Part # 15716 for after the CAT (6 inch lead wires) (1)
Part # 15717 for before the CAT (12 inch lead wires) (2)

On 2005 the catalog lists 15716 for the all (actually is says 4 needed) but you'll need a longer pigtail for the front ones. (2004 numbers).

The actual O2 sensors are the same with both #'s... the 4 wire's length are the difference in the #'s.
