$10/ gallon gas.
This gas price thing is a supply and demand deal just like housing prices. The government does not need to get in and freeze prices or "bail out" anything. Let the market work get out of the way and quit making all these dang laws try to change the market. It has been proven for over 200 years that the market will take care of it self. Folks don't like what is there they don't buy it. Folks see an oppertunity to make some money they go into business to feed a demand. Government got into the car business and started telling auto makers what they had to build now we have very high priced cars. Government got into housing and telling lenders they had to make loans to more people, Look at the housing market. Goverment tells oil companies were they can drill and limits their refining abilities, look at oil prices. Does any one else see a pattern here? God help us when they get this universal health care.

Hope you don't mind the assist, but I bolded the key words up there ^^
5 gens eh thats great and all but you see your missing some thing yes we all floated over here. But when our fathers came over they walked off the boat and said put my rear to work and they did. They worked and bleed to carve out their place in the US. I have Spanish scotch Irish Cherokee and black foot in me. My family line goes back pretty far. when the Morenos (fathers side) and Blanton's (Mothers side) came over they both worked them selfs to death for this country working in ship yards copper and coal mines mills and so forth and so on, served in civil war WW1 ww2 Korea and my father served in Nam. Buy don't you dare compare mine and every other hard working American family line with a bunch of boarder jumping sponge's. Who care nothing for this country its value's its standards who would never fight for her or give any thing to her.
They are here for a free ride and thats it as soon as the big brown pile hits the fan, these Immigrants who you seen waving the stars and stripes on CNN or any other Liberal rag news network will turn around and run like striped raped apes.
When are forefathers came here they did not speak English but you know what they sure as heck learned it real bloody fast.
if you cant speak it then learn it damn it. You can tell they don't give a flying rats behind about the US or its people for the very fact they don't even want to learn how to speak English instead they cry and boo ho and now its mandatory for our kids to take Spanish, but the illegals kids can go to classes where the teachers speak nothing but Spanish..
So long as the people do not care to exercise their freedom, those who wish to tyrannize will do so; for tyrants are active and ardent, and will devote themselves in the name of any number of gods, religious and otherwise, to put shackles upon sleeping men. Voltaire

So by your philosophy, my grandfather who served in the Army and lost his life in WWII didn't do anything for this country? My four uncles that all served in the Army or Marines in Viatnam, with one being a POW for many years coming back with the use of only one hand/arm didn't serve their country? My father and uncles who worked in the mines here in CO for many years of their lives didn't do similar back breaking work? Sure they all spoke Spanish and English, preferred Spanish, but still fought/worked for this country just as much as anyone else.
My point was those people that are legal Americans, born and raised here or even came here legally but speak very poor English, no matter what race or language they speak, shouldn't be classified in the same category as the illegals that are here to work the system. I'd venture to guess there are just as many legal Americans that don't speak any other language than English working the system even more. If you are a legal American, you are given the same rights as every other American, not discriminated against due to the preferred language. It is sad how these people are still discriminated against and how many portray all hispanics as illegals only here to work the system. Similar to the racial tensions in the South and other parts of the country regarding african americans.
I always saw learning a 2nd language, whether it be Spanish or German or whatever, as educating yourself. This will increase your worth in many working environments as you are more diverse. I love the fact my children want to learn a 2nd language, no matter what it is. This will only benefit them in the long run. Also, maybe your local school system requires Spanish, here in CO it's not, even though roughly 1/3 of our population is of hispanic descent. Maybe you should talk to your school board or county officials if you disagree about this standard rather than complain about it. I know Enlish/Lang. Arts is a requirement in all CO schools for every child, no matter what background they come from.
Lastly, not once in any of my posts did I compare an illegal to a legal citizen. Simply stated those legal Americans, no matter how they became a legal American should be treated fairly and not lumped in with illegals, even if you feel their preferred language doesn't match yours. Like stated before, I don't see Canadians continuously bashing other fellow Canadians simply due to one speaking English while the other speaks French. Don't see them having problems with documents being produced in multiple langauges. It's called acceptance and understanding of each individuals differences. They do have tensions at times, like all people do, but they are more willing to accept these differences than many Americans are today. Personally, I think our Founding Fathers would be very disturbed that so many people make such an effort to degrade other fellow Americans simply due to this one petty issue. There are many more pressing issues happening in America today that to bicker over an individuals preferred language.
Again, I'm not including illegals in this, as they are a true problem with America and something needs to be done about it. I'm simply referring to true fellow Americans, no matter what descent they come from.
I knew I shouldn't have posted because it'd be taken out of context and twisted to meet someones agenda.
