You need to look up on top of the engine, down under everything into the valley and see if the oil in in the back side or front side. If it is on the high pressure side, you may be able to see it leaking while running. It is probably a blown o-ring and hopefully not to bad to fix.

crawl up ontop of the motor, with the engine off.Check to see if there is any oil in the valley of the motor. If there is it could just be some o-rings ,but check that first. You have to really look around the turbo pedistal and the HPOP lines. Its hard to see back there so take the time and look real well.

Sactown,

Are you a member of the Montana Owners Club?

We pull our Monty with a 7.3 PSD 450. In the past we have had an oil leak in that area. It has always been the HPOP O rings. We are now out of warranty so will have to pay for this one! About how much is the going to cost?

Hamrad,I don't know if you just don't want to do it or what. But if that is in fact were your leak is you can save alot of money and do it yourself. Here is what you need to buy. Here is an instruction sheet from International/Ford on how to do it.
And welcome to the forum.

Bruce,

Thank you so much. My problem is that I am disabled. I'd love to crawl under the rig and turn a nut or two. But once I got down I'd never get up! <G> But I have a brother who also has a 7.3 and he still can get under and up and I'll take it to him with the instruction sheet. Thank you so much.

Mark,

Thank you. I did not make myself clear. Yes. I was referring to the Montana Owners Club. It is an RV club. It is a nationwide group. Actually we have members from all over the world. We currently have about 4K active members. It is basically a social club. We exchange ideas and discuss various issues with the various Montana trailers.

By the way we have several members around your area. We also have a Rally scheduled for the Memorial Day weekend at Lake Siskiyou which is near Mt. Shasta. You are welcome to attend.

Just do a search for Montana Owners Club in Google and then log in and register. It is like this Forum...... Free. <G>

If you have further questions drop me an email or PM. I assume you can do that from this Forum.

Thanks.

Sactown7.3l,

Sorry to hear about the HPOP. Mine leak has always just been the "O" rings. And last time I had it fixed it took me 5 visits to get it stopped! They finally got all the oil cleaned out but it took them a long time to get it right.

There is a lot of good info at the Montana Owners forum. Lot's of nice folks.

Thanks for the post and hope to see you on down the road.
