finally got my truck scanned. HPOP passed, contribution test passed. the only problem found was a 1661 code, and according to the tech my pcm is searching and not finding the right data. according to him i need a new PCM.
what do you guys think?
1661 PCED OCC signal low Aborts KOEO OCC test Low system voltage, internal PCM fault
Either yes your PCM is bad (doubt it!), you have a battery or alternator that isn't doing its job or he ran the test when the GP's were active and you have weak batteries. I would have the batteries and alternator tested. you could also have wiring or ground issues. Full on testing should be done before replacing the PCM. I am pretty sure this code is referring to the 5 volt reference sent out to the sensors but I can't say for sure.
batteries in november but i have wondered about a ground the radio gets interference and sometimes a get static shock when getting out. i guess ill change the ground to the block and the block to the frame. any other thoughts??
