Does anyone know what the valve sizes are on a 79 351W that came out in T-Birds of that year? According to my PAW catalog they are about the same size as the tiny ones on a spare set of 351W heads I have that came out of a '90 truck. I am just curious because I am thinking about doing a rebuild on the T-Bird engine and just figured I could save a little downtime by having the truck heads gone thru in advance. Is one set of heads any better than the other or are they about the same? I am assuming that the accessories from the '79 would bolt up to the '90 heads-Am I wrong? Thanks for any help.

Both heads should have 1.84" intake and 1.54 exhuast. I'd go ahead and do the newer heads because most if not all the EFI heads had 64cc combustion chambers which will boost your CR to 8.8, with stock configuration, where the 79' heads with 69cc only have a 8.4 CR stock.
The valve sizes on the '90 351 truck heads are intake-1.780 and exhaust 1.450. I measured them tonight with my dial caliper. I haven't looked for the casting numbers on the '79 heads yet.
