Great write up, I did these a couple of months ago and a press is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. It is pretty straight forward process but its great to see someone has made a write up, reps sent.
I just got done doing this at 3:00AM in the driveway. I'm sure the HOA is going to love that. I can't imagine doing this without a shop press. It would be a nightmare. Those things are in there pretty darn tight even with a press.
I've got to put mine back on in the morning, but I got them all pressed out and the new bushings installed.
Outstanding article 1975StroppeBaja! I intend to use another writeup of yours tomorrow when I replace my ball joints and hubs.
I am glad I didn't tackle this a few weeks back when I was messing with my exhaust manifold studs. I spent a lot of time under the truck and thought "Wow those bushings are shot" maybe I'll pull them off and knock it out without a press.
I will still do it I just know that I "NEED" a press to accomplish the job.
Not much of a poster here. I do more searches than anything else. Figure there's not much I'd run into that someone else hasen't already figured out.
Another thanks to 1975StroppeBaja. Just did mine on my 2002 F350 and what a difference. No doubt, the instructions w/ the Energy Suspension bushings SUCK . And, I agree with others, I don't really see how this could be done without a press...and on mine some heat....gotta love the 'welding power' of rust .
