Had mine for several years, had tried some cheap shocks and blew them out after less than 2 years. Bilstein are the best and come with everything you need

Is there any advantage to installing Bilstien .....

on a stock 2 WD Expy EB, rather than a more conventional shock? Seems like these are for hi perfomance 4 wheeling, not freeway driving. What do you think?

These shocks improve handling on freeways over the stock. The expy doesn't hop all over the road whenever you hit a bump. Cornering is improved because there's less roll.

Just installed my new Bilsteins on my 2000 Expedition 4x4 so far it seems way better than the ones I had on there before, Ill let you guys know how it is on the freeway.
Total time for the install was around 3hrs this includes clean-up.
