spartan injectors

Has anyone tried spartan's level one preformance injectors, going to change mine out on my o4, the place were i get most my work done, quoted me 3200 for stock new injectors, plus 6 hours labour, a little much compared to the price of the level one, i've always had Intermittent rough idle since the truck was new, seems to be getting worst at 210 klms

thanks

Well if your going to go aftermarket injectors your going to have to go custom tuning as well and get rid of the edge platinum as it will not be able to compensate for that.

I have the stage 1 towing injectors which aren't all that much different from stage 1 performances, I love the off idle throttle that you can get with them and they come in handy with towing. Also your going to have to upgrade to a FASS fuel system and for sure a Regulated Return kit(ITP) in order to not lose fuel pressure as you will with bigger injectors. It might take a couple of months for the stock pump to go, but it will. I would so suggest an in-cab fuel psi gauge as well to make sure, particularly if your not going to upgrade the fuel system or do an RR kit(which should actually be done rather or not you upgraded injectors).

I still run the stock fuel pump and its the one that came on the truck. The drain plug has been seized for a couple years though. If you don't run the truck at wot all the time you should get good service life with the stock pump. I am very happy with the injectors I got from spartan.Neverman the place you get your work done wants to make some money off you I see.

Not true, my tunes when I had the new injectors put in had the same hp/tq numbers if someone was just running tunes and my stock pump went out on me in 2 months. If my tunes had adjusted hp/tq numbers for someone to take full advantage of the injectors then I doubt it would have lasted that long.

Edit: I know why you had that experiance that you did, it's because you have the economax injectors, that is very much different then the other stages, yes with that one you can get away with the stock pump, but not for the other ones. You have to remember with stage 1's(rather they are tow or performance they have the same nozzle size) your talking about 40% bigger then stock, I doubt economax injectors are that much bigger.

You might be right on sizing tex. I have never asked Matt what size they are but he refers to them as stage one when we talk future mods.

Oh you'll love the bigger turbo, I know I have been enjoying mine. It takes a little bit to get used to how to tow with the new ones(if you use it to tow), but it really is sweet turbo.

Tex I remember reading somewhere that the FASS works a RR so the need to add one is unneccessary. Have you heard this before?

By the way, I know you are running the FICM tuning; are you running a DashDAQ (Phalanx) now?

Yes, be it's nature it is to a degree an RR in of itself, it however does not do away with the "dead-heading" that is a common problem. It isn't fun getting those two to work together, but you won't have to worry about pressure loss to the injectors.

No even though Matt was trying to convince me to go to that, although I think I'll be getting one for my girlfriend for her new ride. Just depends on what kind of deal Matt can cut me for one.

I love mine. And I know how much you love gauges, you can get one and get sensors for all kinds of stuff, rear diff temp etc.

So how did he tune your truck without the new tuner, Laptop?

Yea I do like my gauges that for sure. I just wish autometer had their antique beige gauges for pyro, tranny, and boost so it would all match and I think that style looks good in the King Ranch.

Partly, it was a little more complicated then that. He had to work a little extra magic to get the truck to take it.

neverman, make sure you have your tuning figured out before injecters. Don't do like I did and put in injectors and have to wait for tunes. By the way, Spartan how are my tunes coming??
