Turbo Question
Hey, I have a 95 F350 with that is completely stock. I was wondering how long the stock turbo usually lasts. I've looked around for a bit and haven't found much on this..Anything helps. Thanks.

Hi Spenser, I'm not sure if there is a mileage limit on the turbo, I've heard some guys state that they have the original turbo way past 150,000.
I think a lot has to do with frequent oil changes and letting the turbo cool down after hard running so the the bearings don't get coked up.
Perhaps someone else will jump in with different info.

Shoot I forgot to even give you my mileage. Mine is at 206xxx at I'm still running the stock turbo. So I'm kind of expecting to need a new one...

On a stock truck the turbo is probably just fine. They are cheap anyway compared to items like the trans. You can get a good used turbo for $150-200 or a new rebuilt for $450-600.

Most of us only replace our turbos for better performing units, versus mechanical failure. I put a 1.0 housing on my 97 for better spool up.
