I got my new steering pump from autozone part#7056 and my pressure line part#71037.. The fitting on the power steering line is way to small for the pump??? is there another coupler or something that Im missing?? These part# are right for my aplication 78/79 f150 4x4???
well the pump must have the wrong size female end because I went to 4 different parts places including napa, no one had a pump to compare but everyone that had a hose had the same hose I had with the smaller male end(I belive 3/8) and the bung on the pump is 3/4 or 5/8 What a PITA Ive never had so much trouble getting a part as simple as a steering line in my entire life! What next, I suppose Ill have to order the fittings special order from NASA off a mothballed project!
It's been that way for years, they (Napa anyways) should have an adaptor, if not look for a Hydraulic Hose store, like Parker Assemblies or a John Deere dealership.
The new pump I bought came with two adapters you could use I think that one came from Parts Plus but yeah go to a Hydraulic shop and have them make a hose
Took my pump and the new hose to a hydro place today, and they took the old fitting off and put a new one on for free, so that was a good score. Thanx for the comments guys.
I've been looking and haven't found any, but can't find any stainless steel braided hoses. I think they would be more durable where they touch the fender aprons and the pump and stuff. Maybe a hydro hose place could custom sleeve the hose with some Stainless braid.

They do have abrasion sleeves that slip over the hose and are zip tied into place.
