As far as WMO goes I can say this, I have a uncle who worked for Chevron down in California(not a dealer he actually worked for the corporation) and he once said that they sold used motor oil to shipping companies to burn in their ocean vessels. This was 10+ years ago and they had been doing this for a while. I don't know if they refined it in some way but no one seemed worried about it ruining the motors.

Marine diesels for large ships are a totally different animal.
They are designed to run on bunker fuel which is not much more refined than oil straight out of the well. As a result they will run on almost any flammable liquid.

It's your truck, your $$$$, and your decision. I never have a problem with others using whatever they want to.

The only time I have a problem is when somebody PROMOTES the use of WMO or UNHEATED WVO. Somebody sometime will try it and ruin an expensive engine.

Yes, I promote the use of Biodiesel. I do this from experience (4 years) and the fact that I can present study after study that will show the use of QUALITY MADE Biodiesel will not harm an engine.
thanks...you know everybody at first thought you was crazy for using wvo.. this is why I'm trying it out on a bad motor I've had the injectors out pop tested them and I put this IP on from a $100 parts motor... when I swap motors or this one goes boom then I'll pull it apart and see what has happend ... the next moto in my truck is a rebuitl 6.9 from a south western bell truck... when it runs it sound like a gasser very quiet ... well did the guy that had it did'nt treat it right it needs injectors and GP's

Well I've got 414 miles now on my oil mix. I just filled up tonight with just over 50% wmo, the rest pump diesel. This is slightly higher than the first tank by maybe 10% I guess. So tomorrow we shall see if there is any change. No clogged filters yet, no problems to date.

Got about 50 miles on the heavier concentration. This makes somewhere around 460 miles total on wmo mix. Truck warms up faster. Engine is quieter, less knock. Still about the same smoke, maybe a little more. I don't think there is any more or less power, feels the same. This is at somewhere between 50 and 60 percent wmo. I'll burn this tank, next one will be 60-70 percent. Still no issues.

empiretc- I make my current mix in six gallon batches. 5 gallons wmo, 1 gallon pump diesel, and a dose (1/2 ounce per gallon) of opti-lube xpd formula. I looked at several different additives to use, and this stuff is the best I have found as far as chemical content.

Toilet paper, reminds me of a old filter my dad had laying around that used toilet paper rolls as filter elements. I think he had it on a Volvo.

I use a frantz filter on my truck. it uses toilet paper. They claim sub 1 micron filtering. I haven't see those number really backed up in my used oil analysis but there are many who swear by them.
