fuel screen question

fuel screen question

i am planning on doing the fpr shim and a fuel filter 2morrow. does anyone have pics of the fuel screen to clean? or can tell me where to look. thanks, dan

Dan, Take the top off of the fuel filter, remove the filter element and set it aside. On the drivers side approximately an inch or so down the side you will see a hole about the size of your little finger.

Take a mirror and a good light and look into the hole. You should see a silver color , fine mesh screen. If it has crud on it take a Q-tip, remove the cotton and very GENTLY remove the crud.

When that has been completed drain the fuel bowl, (put a catch pan beneath the truck first) then put everything back together.

Freeby:
Use a BB from, or at least meant for a BB GUN.....ONLY when you shim the FPR.

the q tip wont fall apart and leave white fuzz all over it. i cant use them in my ears anymore for they give me ear infections cuz of the fuzz they leave in there. i have to use a key. haha

Proper etiquette is to always use your OWN truck key. LOL

yup i usually do. i just did my down pipe and fuel filter and cleaned the screen. waiting on my buddy to bring over a bb so i can shim the fpr

Look at the bright side. You never need to add lube to your lock cylinder.

PS- many guys remove the cotton from the q-tip and just use the stick.

from what i just did today even without driving it (blown trans) i can tell that it revs faster. i like it. i like it alot
