Me and my dad got to talking today and he said his 02 GMC 2500HD SC SB Auto stock VS my 00 CC SB with a 80E DP-tuner. I know these 6.0s are quick but I was wondering if we lined them up at our local 1/8 mile who would win? I also have a buddy I work with we ride together everyday and challanged me to run his 06Dodge Daytona RC SB with a 5.7 I am pretty sure I could beat him with ease.
Well not sure but last year was my last year of high school and i ran against one of my buddies when we were leaving school and he had a 2500 chevy with the 8.1 in it and couldn't keep up.
the 6.0 vortec you should beat. when my 7.3 was stock we were side by side so should have no problem. i dont know about the daytona tho. never raced one.
Well I have seen several Hemi's beaten a 7.3 with just a chip so I don't beleive that will be a problem, but I know these 6.0 vortecs are quick, I drive one at work and dads sometimes. With an 80E the 7.3 doesn't lag much, I think I could beat him in the 1/8.

You will get him in the 1/8th but he will catch you as you get 50-100 feet further. Thats what happened to me a few months back. I am estimating the distance based on the MPH I was running when he caught me compared to the MPH I got in the 1/8th at smokin. I jumped out in front by a truck length or so, and had him up to about 70-75mph. Thats when he flew by me. That was before the updated tunes, though but I don't think it would make much more difference. He was coming pretty hard and we did it twice. I just mashed on it in 80"e" on the first one, and then again in 120R on the second. No pre-loading the turbo or anything though. Just mashed it when the light turned green.

In a 2500 you should be pretty close. A 6.0 half ton would eat your lunch. 5.7Hemi's are easy prey....if they are stock. I made the mistake of messing with a supercharged 5.7 a while back.......oops.
Last summer I raced a 2004 Silverado SS at Bandimere (1/4 mile). I ran a 15.4, he ran a high 16. My truck with nothing but a chip, intake, and exhaust would still run low 16's. After we raced, he pulled back around and walked up to my truck asking what I did to it. He said he had a 2001 PSD at home and couldn't believe my truck beat his Silverado.
Bottom line, you should beat him. Get a good 4x4 boosted launch and he'll never catch you.
Put your left foot on the break put your right foot on the gas about 1/4 throttle and build boost. Wen the light turns green, left off the break and bam!!- boosted launch.

I wear a size 14 shoe, so I could too...not like Joe is saying, but I watch enough Nascar to know how to heel toe the Brake and Gas pedal with the right foot and clutch with the left.
