ok so my 65 100 has the 240 6 cyl right now. i have a buddy who found me a 351 cleveland dirt cheap. my question is will it fit in the truck. like is the oil pan gonna be in the way and all that stuff. any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
An easy V8 swap is the 352/360/390 etc.. however thats not the most economic engine. But if it was me I'd invest in that 6 if it's in decent shape. As a weekend ride the gas will be less and if you need a work horse at any time it's already there.
now I read somewhere on here that the 300 and the 240 are the same block. just change out the crank and rods I think? and that'll be pretty much it. also I think the 240 has a 3.85" and the 300 is a 4" is that right? and if i do invest in the 6 instead what is everyone's thoughts on putting a new intake manifold on it to put on a 2 barrell or two 1 barrell carbs. hell I'll even ask about putting on a 4 barrell.
