This my first post here.been doing a lot of reading and have learned a lot more about my truck
early 99 350 dulley
52.000
6spd
4.10 rear
most miles are towing a gross wt of abt 26.000
My Question is, about how long of a crank time do you have after doing some short trips to the store 1-3 mile and then sitting for a few days. My time has gone up as the truck gets older 5-8 sec. Always starts though. is not glow plug, or low hpop leak down. the crank time sorta will return to normal after driving a longer distance. What is normal?? have listened to other 7.3 starting and their time seems normal.
The rpm's the starter spins the engine slows down a little at a time. You do not even notice it's happening because you don't really notice it until it gets really bad. I once replaced batteries even when I was told there was nothing wrong with them because I could not believe the starter that did turn it over just was not turning it fast enough. New starter, like a new truck, I was amazed. Hopefully your problem is just the batteries because they are a little easier to replace but not much cheaper. Don't do just one though.
