I last filled up a few weeks ago at 3.95 a gal. filled up and have been trying not to drive until it gets back to an affordable price. I'm just about at a 1/4 tank and that's starting to make me feel uncomfortable about driving the truck.
I start in econo every day unless it's REALLY cold (30s or below), and take it easy never going above 2000 rpm until it's warmed up. When it is real cold, I usually start it a few minutes before I leave and let it run in warm-up mode for a bit.
I kno when I have left my truck in a tune overnight that the block heater helps out, it just sounds so much better. but I always try to let it warm up when cold or even if I havent driven it in a while.
I spoke with Jody yesterday about creating a new tune. I asked him if he could take a high idle and program the EBPV to close no matter what temp and call it a high idle warm up tune. He said "Yeah I could do that. I hadn't thought of it, but thats a good idea." I guess he will have it soon. I have been starting mine in stock mode since someone mentioned this topic a few months ago. If it is over 50 degrees I will start in 80 "e" and just not go beyond half throttle until it reaches operating temp.
Never heard of this not starting the truck with a tune dailed in and only start in stock.
Have had a DP tuner for 4 years (over 120,000 miles) and used programers before that on a previuos truck(2000 F350).
Never have had any problem what so ever.
This is new to me..........Usually run and always have started in 80economy tune.
You telling us that Jody told you this?...........Why didn't he ever tell me or others?

Damn, I love your new signature!!!! And what's really funny about it is their support of abortion. They're killing off their own kind and are too dumb to realize it..............

that is known as freedom of choice, which sadly is one of the few choices american people have today
I didn't,don't and will never belong to or solely agree with any political party, but I would much rather see an aborted pregnancy than to see an unwanted abused child
I doubt the women you will see go through an abortion clinic are of one paty either
You guys really should upgrade to the gauge switch from dp the little dot beside the number lets me know exactly when the truck is ready to go when i change the setting. As for the cold start while in a tune, i guess ill definitely be changing back to stock when i crank it now.
Well this is something I've never even thought about with my Superchip! I don't have the ability to set it back to stock very easily, without plugging in the tuner! I have always taken it easy for a few minutes at least, but mostly for abuse to the tranny, never thought about the cold motor with a tune. Interesting.......although in the next month or so I'll have my JWVB, then the DP to follow soon
