I removed my drive line and noticed that there is a crack on my rear driveline in two spots that hold the u joints what should i do. Do I need a new driveline or what. Its Saturday and no shop is open to press out my u joints and ive never done it. Any suggestions would help. Thank you.

 

Are you referring to the yoke part or the driveshaft? Why not call a salvage yard;i'm sure you can find the part/parts there.

 

if the driveshaft cups are split then you need a new/used driveshaft. don't worry about removing the u-joints from a scrap driveshaft.

 

I can't help you except to say I've been following your u-joint posts for a few days now and you must be extremely frustrated. Why not post a picture of the driveshaft in here so some of the outstanding experts on here can see what you actually mean? A digital camera would sure help out in diagnosing your next step. (Hard to give a harcut over the phone a friend of mine would always say.)

I had the same problem with my '97. It was on the rear flange that bolts up to the diff. It only costs $27 at a Ford dealer (cost). I can't believe how cheap and thin these flanges are made.
