Seems like the spray on folks are ahead in this one! I'll check out the "Undercover" lid. I like the idea of a hard cover that gets painted the same as the truck. We fish alot, but probably will be able to keep our gear underneath without the top interfering-it won't be that tall, or we can put it in the boat.
I was just worried about taking it off and if the camper insert would be a problem.
I have the oem ford drop in bedliner made by duraliner. unfortunatelly the drop in liner is a loose fit , even with the fronts bolted in place, and slides around slightly wearing away the factory paint under the liner. As for heavy items in the bed, the ribs of the plastic liner carries the load better without denting the floor.
i have another vote for the line-x as i just had mine done too after taking out the drop-in and seeing the damage underneath. I also put dee zee bed rails on the side rails and the top of the tailgate and had them sprayed with line-x. (like beerstalker did but i left the plastic on since the dee zees fit better and just trimmed it) - ill get pictures soon for everyone.
They wont fade either like the plastic since i got line-x xtra.

The "Undercover" .......er....cover that I have is some sort of plastic. I'm not sure how well it'll hold a coating of paint. It's got kind of an orange peel texture although not as pronounced. Just make sure that whoever paints it is willing to guarantee it. Otherwise, I think you're looking at a more expensive color matched cover.
As far as bed covers go, look long and hard at retractable,
lockable hard covers. I have a Pace Edwards jack rabbit and I
love it. My next one would be a USA Truck Cover. The cover can
hold up to 500# on it. Great way to go.
Good luck, Yeller.
From what I can tell the 99-08 bed liners are all the same unless you have the tailgate step of course. There are lots of people selling drop in liners on craigslist and other venues pretty cheap. I like the idea of a spray in liner but its hard to spend the cash when you can either transfer your plastic one to your 08 or buy a used one for $50
I used a generic spray in liner by a shop...DO NOT DO IT! I am having problems with some coming loose. Sure, saved a few bucks but regret not getting a Rhino/Line-X.
As for covers, check out the Truxedo tonnau covers...really slick look and fast to rollup then recover. I have had many people ask about it when they saw how fast it installs.
