The grille on my 2000 f250 SD XLT was damaged from a recent wind /rock /sand storm and I have to replace it. I like a simple stock grille and the dealer quoted me $250.00. I have found the aftermarket, all-chrome ones for about $100.00. Does anyone have any experience with these, are the same dissapointment as in other foreign made aftermarket parts? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Those look really cheap to me I think you will want to stick with factory, you should be able to find a factory one on ebay or check your local craigslist.
I found a factory one on craigslist, brand new, for $75. It was and extra part from a rebuild. I got a white oem grill for my sport on ebay for $125, but now I'm thinking billet would look better since my bumper is white and it might be too much.
I purchased an aftermarket chrome grille on eBay. I love it but its not in the best of shape due to water/soap/everything else building up in the corners turning the chrome kinda dull and yellow. I figure if I had taken better care of it by drying it off and such it would still look great. Every now and then I use some glass cleaner on it and it starts sparkling like new again. I might try a toothbrush this weekend to see if I can't get some of that crap out of the corners.
