Just dreamin',maybe?

Hey gang, would anybody have any thoughts on how a F150 with a V10 would be?I've had a few F150's before, but can't imagine what the modular would do to a F150's mind.I'd feel sorry for the guy behind em'.

Could you even fit the v10 in a 150 eng bay?

anything is possible with the right budget line

though it wouldn't make sence to put a v10 in an f150, save your self the time and the trouble just get a supercharger, but honestly who likes to go the easy way

It's definitly some thing I'd like to see, possibly a supercharged V-10 under the hood of an f-150 (that I'll be the day)

There's a guy running around here in a F150 with 40 Valve DOHC Triton V10 BOSS tags and badges... exhaust pipe looked a bit small to have anything bigger than a 4.6 though. Was really interesting the first time I saw it.

I think if they did a V10 swap, you could tell with the exhaust sound. Perhaps he did the easier and cheaper "Badge" swap.

I'd rather put a diesel in a F-150 then a V10. Get some nice smoke, and everything would think it's breaking down.

It's theoretically possible to use DOHC heads from a V8, cut them up, and weld them back together to make a V10 head. Including cams, of course.

But who'd wanna?

I think that's where that 4.6-based V10 came from, cutting up two 4.6L blocks and welding them back together...

Someone said it wasn't a good idea, if you go more then stock. Something about crankshaft being week in the middle?

Just trying to go off what I remember.....

The only weakness I know of in the V10 crank is the snout - when you get into very large blowers, you can break off the snout of the crank.

There's a support bearing someone made for it out there on the 'net.
