Just wanted to thank all who gave info for my 6637 mod. I got it in yesterday(about 2 hrs) noticed a difference in response time, seems like it came alive. I am getting a woosh sound everytime it changes gears but I guess thats the turbo talking to me saying thanks. Will be ordering cover soon and oil line cross over.
Good deal Scott. I hope you plan on doing all the mods yourself to save money for another. Man this is like that snow ball thing, the more you do, the more you want to do. I know I can't see the end of this tunnel.
Yes that is a big filter, I had just got it installed and a friend came over, of course I had to show it to him. You should of seen his eye's when I opened the hood. I plan to do as many of the mods as I can (that I feel comfortable doing) I just get nervous about making a 12000.00 mistake. But hey thats why I got you guys.
Patrick, he don't have a chip so I wouldn't think it is surge. The woooosh is after the trans shifts. It is the excess air from the turbo that goes back through the filter.
The explaination part was for Scott, I know you already know what I was saying Patrick. lol
Surge is completely different -- that's when the wheel stalls under heavy loads. When shifting, it's just excess boost bleeding off. Two completely different scenarios.
Sounds good to me to, I like the sound. I know this is another post but what does cleaning off the foil on the IC tube do? or is it just for looks?
mainly looks but some say they hear a little more whistle.. one guy cant remember name but anyway he found that he had a cracked i/c pipe. its a fun job takin that stupid foil off too
Yea it sounds like a job from the threads I just read, looks nice though. I dont know if I want anymore sound(not that I dont like) but wife rides with me when we pull the 5th and she thinks its load already. I told her to wait till the new exhaust goes on.
