Yea it sounds like a job from the threads I just read, looks nice though. I dont know if I want anymore sound(not that I dont like) but wife rides with me when we pull the 5th and she thinks its load already. I told her to wait till the new exhaust goes on.
and the list just keeps goin and goin and goin and then just a little more and boom you an still find somethin else to do.
All part of PMS lol, now its just time to get a Pete's cover and put on it . I use to think the 6637 was a big filter until I seen this massive thing through under a 97 OBS truck check out Brandon's Smokin Pictures you'll see.
If you remove the foil, wear gloves!! That crap will cut you. If you think you have a good sound just after installing the 6637 wait until you do the foil delete. Gives more wooooosh sound from the turbo. My first tank of fuel went very quickly after doing this mod. (had to floor it,and let off alot) just to listen to it
I know this is another post but what does cleaning off the foil on the IC tube do? or is it just for looks?[/quote]
It can't have went as fast as my tank of fuel with the DP put in .

You just need a 4" piece to couple the rubber hose to the filter. I did mine by slipping the rubber intake tube over the filter. Everybody does it different..
I used a piece of 4" od pvc. I bought a 90 deg. elbow and cut the end off, about 3-1/2 to 4" piece, slip 2" inside the filter and the other 2" inside the black rubber hose. You will need to purchase an extra band clamp for the filter side. pics on my gallery
Dallas -- what year is your truck?? The early 99s need a piece of 4" bent at 120*. I also read where it helps to reverse the intake tube (the end that goes to the stock airbox now attaches to the CCV coupler and vise versa).
If you have a late 99-03, no adapter needed unless you want to. I had mine attached directly to the intake tube, but decided to add the adapter pipe. Although I had no problems without it, I like it better with it. Much more secure.

ITS A EARLY 99 BUILD DATE 3/98
I GOT IT DONE I GOT A 4 INCH PICHE CUT IT IN HALF AND WELDED IT IN AN ANGLE AND IT WORKED
Yes. You get much more noise with the 6637. Some also get a drone that drives them crazy (me). You can fix the drone by building a cold air intake box, but that sucking air sound still shows up more than it did with the stock air box. I also noticed more power at lower RPM's with the 6637.
I did my mod early this week and love it. I left in the battery box and cold air tube, thinking about moding the front of air tube for more cooler air. But my next step will either be muffler delete or 4" straight pipe so i can let it breathe.
To thinks i went from a 2wd s10 to a 99 f350 4wd crew cab long bed, it think i could of parked my old truck in the back
Here is a site i got my 4" exhaust and constant torque clamps, cheap to!!
