Hi I have an E150 van that is real close to getting painted my question is there are places that have red and grey rustoleum primer that was used to smooth scratches blims and rock chips. The original paint is in real good shape will the rusto be a problem? The paint I have been looking at is Dupont nason Ful-Thane 2K urethane. Thanks
for small chips from rocks or what ever, use a product called glacéing compound. sand and fill to the hight of the surrounding paint, when dry re-sand with a light paper, prime then paint.

The guy I bought it from used Rustolium red sandable primer to fill the small chips and scratches. I read here that some paint wont stick to Rusto but someone said that it could be sprayed with something that would let the paint stick to the primer. It's real nice and flat and would be ready to paint but I don't want to screw it up with the cost of paint like it is. Thanks
i just did my f350 tow vehicle.use that spot and glaze puddy in those little tubes(make sure its not lacquer based it has a tendency to shrink) made by bondo to fill in the chips, sand down flush with 400. use pcl high build primer (67 a gallon) works great to get out little imperfections and gives u a lot to sand on.my truck went from ****ed to perfectly strait in no time, of course i paint vehicles and planes for a living so i know the little tricks to get the product perfecto... and if u have any rust sand the **** out its not hard and only helps in the long runner.good luck
